A native to Florence, Italy and a long time Valley restauranteur, Franco Fazzuoli created Franco’s Italian Caffe. Franco’s goal was to bring fresh, upscale Italian flavors to Scottsdale by created a memorial to his home country. This restaurant is located in downtown Scottsdale and offers authentic Florentine dishes like Filet Mignon All’Arrabiata, Bistecca Fiorentina, and Spaghetti Salsa Cruda. The restaurant also offers amazing wine pairings to go with their delicious food to give you a well-balanced meal from beginning to end.
If you are looking to enjoy a sophisticated dinner by candlelight, then you need not look further than The Mission in Scottsdale. This restaurant has a distinct upscale feel that specializes in modern Latin cuisine that is skillfully prepared by the head chef. Chef Matt Carter uses the traditional “plancha” style of grilling while preparing his meals. You should definitely try the Crispy Cola Pork Belly that is infused with cola, lime, chiltepin, peanut, pickled red onion, and gem lettuce.
Located in the Bespoke Inn in Old Town is Virtu. This charming café is relatively new to the block, but it has already made wave in the culinary community by making the Esquire Magazine Best Restaurants in America List. The menu is distinctively Mediterranean with a Southwest flair. With items like their grilled octopus cooked with fennel, arugula, lemon chick peas, and chile butter, as well as hand crafted cocktails, this restaurant is a must visit.
Barrio Queen is the latest creation from Chef Silviana Esparza of the Barrio Café Fame. This latest creation of Chef Esparza brings the famous flavors of her heritage to patrons of Scottsdale through her interpretations of authentic Mexico City style dishes. Along with their amazing food options, Barrio Queen is also a Panaderia and Tequileria—meaning you can pick up a fresh Mexican sweet bread and quality tequila based drinks along with their passionate take on Mexican cuisine.
