In the Heart of It All

When you’re staying in one of our BookMyVacaydowntownFlagstaff rentals, you’re lucky enough to be staying where the action happens and within walking distance to most everything in town. Stocking your condo’s refrigerator with fresh fruits and vegetables that are organic and locally grown is easy when you stop by the Flagstaff Farmer’s Market at 1901 North 4thStreet, open every day of the week from 7AM to 6:30 PM; Sunday’s hours are 8AM to 5PM to allow their employees to spend more time with their families. When a headache strikes, the local Walgreens is located just around the corner, and you can use your rewards card from home, so the bonus points keep growing! It gets cold at night in Flagstaff, even in the summer, and if you brought only a light sweater to keep you warm, you’ll be glad to know that Babbitt’s Backcountry Outfitters at 12 East Aspen Avenuehas warm and stylish coats and jackets that will keep you toasty and warm.

Feasting in Flagstaff

That cold mountain air stirs up a hearty appetite when staying in Flagstaff, and being able to walk to and from a delicious restaurant makes your visit even better. Start your day out with a big breakfast from Downtown Diner at 7 East Aspen Avenue; their 3-egg omelets will stick to your ribs! Fratelli Pizza at 119 Phoenix Avenue is our favorite place for a big pie with the works, and their takeout menu is filled with foods that taste best when eaten in your pajamas on the couch in front of the large flat screen television in your BookMyVacay vacation rental! And because every meal tastes better when served with an ice-coldbeer, Beaver Street Brewery at 11 South Beaver Street #1 has a nice selection of craft beers and an extensive menu of foods ranging from steamed mussels in curry sauce appetizers, salads, and burgers; if you can’t find it on the menu, you just aren’t trying hard enough.

Exploring the Streets of Flagstaff

The truth of the matter is that Flagstaff is actually a small mountain village with a population that explodes during the school year, and as such, there is always something going on in Flagstaff’s downtown. Wander over to the Old Town Shops at 120 North Leroux Street and buy some homemade fudge; the game involves getting it back to your vacation hideaway without eating it all first! Treat yourself to something pretty at P.J. Chilcottage while you’re there, or stop in for a beer and billiards at the Uptown Pub House. It doesn’t really matter what you do, just that you have a great time doing it! Downtown Flagstaff has something for everybody!

More About Flagstaff

Flagstaff is the town we visit when we want to experience the seasons. In the summer, it can be at least 25 degrees cooler in the daytime than in Phoenix, and in the winter, skiing at Snowbowl provides a fun wintry escape.

During the school year, Flagstaff’s downtown streets are teeming with happy young people laughing and joking with their friends; Northern Arizona University, a highly-accredited college, makes its home here.

The downtown Flagstaff area features quaint shops, charming pubs, and restaurants that serve hearty meals during the cold winter months and lighter fare during the warmer months of summer.

The Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival is coming to town, showing 2000 plus films at the grand and historic Orpheum Theater February 16th-19th. There’s always something fun to do in this charming college town!
