Baseball, football, basketball—they’re all great exercise that, when played professionally, become fantastic events! And if you’re looking for a place to stay while in town for a game, you have come to the right place! Let’s talk about some of the spectacular stadiums that host Arizona’s teams—and the vacation rentals in the Phoenix area to stay in if you’ll be attending.
Talking Stick Resort Arena
Located right off of Downtown Phoenix, Talking Stick Resort Arena is home of the Phoenix Suns, the Phoenix Mercury, and the Arizona Rattlers. It’s also a destination for music lovers—the proud arena also plays host to popular shows such as Twenty-One Pilots, Adele, and Demi Lovato. Two different parking garages service the massive facility. Several restaurants nearby, most of them sports bars and burger joints, do steady business with the customers.
Where to Stay
If easy access to a Sun’s game is important to you, many of our Phoenix, AZ vacation rentals are close by. We recommend the Arcadia Place four-bedroom property. Pueblo Trails, a three-bedroom/three-bathroom property, is also a good bet thanks to its proximity to Highway 51. Coral Gables, another four-bedroom, has quick access to the I-17 that should make the trip easier.
Formerly called Bank One Ballpark, Chase Field is famous in the baseball world for its trademark retractable roof. It’s home of the Diamondbacks—the team that won the 2001 World Series! Being in downtown Phoenix, it not only has plenty of parking nearby, as well as convenient light rail metro access, but also has plenty of things to check out nearby, including museums and the Arizona Science Center—all you need to turn your trip to the ball game into a full day of fun!
Where to Stay
Being close by downtown, our properties with the best access to Chase field are the same as those with good access to Talking Stick Resort Arena: Phoenix, AZ vacation rentals! Arcadia Place is closest geographically, while Coral Gables and Pueblo Trails boast highway access that can make the jaunt a bit more straightforward.
University of Phoenix Stadium
As home to Arizona’s NFL football team, the University of Phoenix Stadium is also called the Cardinal’s Nest. Happy to cater to the football culture, the west side of the stadium features The Great Lawn—eight acres reserved for tailgating! The area is perfect for a day enjoying Arizona’s mild fall and winter weather, with Grand Canal Linear Park just down the street, Glendale Heroes Regional Park being just a mile and a half away, and Desert Mirage Golf & Practice Center just a mile away.
Where to Stay
You’ll want to look into Gilbert, AZ homes for rent to visit University of Phoenix Stadium. If there’s a game you want to catch, the best bet would be our Desert Ridge property and Dorado property—both of these properties have unbeatable access to the Loop 101, so the trip to the stadium should be fairly smooth.
